What’s your full name?
Timothy Alphonse Marano
Were you named after anyone?
The name Timothy came from Saint Timothy. I recently Googled him to discover he was the patron saint of stomach and intestinal disorders, so I’m always sure to carry Tums and Alka-Seltzer wherever I go to honor him. My middle name Alphonse came from my late grandfather who I never knew.
What’s your average day like?
The second my eyes pop open I’m wide awake. I tend to be up early and if I’m not working that day I’m usually bored before anyone is even up. I do my chores check to see if anyone needs help with anything and then I usually wander around and figure out something interesting or at least time consuming.
How far away do you live from where you were born?
I grew up in Willow Glen, California but I live in Gilroy now about 30 miles away
Is that distance something you think about? Do you any connection to your place of birth?
Not so much anymore. My girlfriend still lives there so I get to go back and see it all change but there is a strange disconnect now.
What do you consider to be your “home”?
My room at my parent’s place. I’ve bounced around a lot and one day I hope to have my own home (in the Bay Area:/) but for now it’s nice to have a spot to center myself if I need it.
At the moment, what’s something you’re looking forward to?
Christmas…not the presents I just like the season. Plus, my sister has a baby on the way and I can’t wait to meet my nephew or niece! I’ve got tons of Star Wars stuff ready. I’m also starting a new job soon.
What items do you always take with you when you leave the house?
Besides my wallet, my keys. My pocket knife, my parent’s gave it to me one year and it’s probably the one thing I always have on me.
When you look in the mirror, what do you notice first about your appearance?
I’m getting older and grayer and I sure could use a shave.
If you could change something about your appearance, what would it be?
I’m pretty comfortable with the way I look, but it sure would be nice if I could shave and not have a five o’clock shadow by noon.
What do you first notice in strangers?
Their eyes, I think you can tell everything you need know about someone through eye contact.
What do think those that know you say about you?
I’ve never really thought about that before. Nice things maybe.
What would you hope they would say?
I would hope they have something more interesting to talk about.
What do you think strangers notice first about you?
Hopefully that I manage not to drool while I speak.
What is your proudest moment? Biggest victory?
Not that I see it as a negative or anything but I’m not sure I’ve ever had that moment. Sounds great though.
What is your biggest regret? Biggest failure?
Anything I’ve ever done to hurt my family or people close to me, but I don’t dwell on regrets I just hope that they’ll shape me into a better person in the future. As for failures, I don’t think I really ever seen anything I’ve done as a complete success.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
Some people would say I do too much for others so I guess maybe the ability to do things that benefit me every now and then.
What makes life worth living?
Family. So many things in life are senseless, family the one thing we should all grab on to and pull close.
If you could know exactly when and how you would die, would you want to know?
Who says I don’t? Muhahahaha…seriously though, I don’t know what I would do if I did know so probably not. I hate hospitals so I hope however I go it’s quick.
What is the one rule you try to live by? Do you feel successful at following it?
Don’t screw up. It’s been rocky but I get by.
