What’s your full name?
Justine Beltran
Do you feel any connection to your name?
Not really, I would have much preferred a name like Juliet. Something a little more romantic.
How old are you?
27
How old do you feel?
Whatever age you have to be that gives you arthritis and a deep need to move deep into the woods, away from the rest of the world.
Where do you currently live?
Northern Idaho. I’ve lived here for 7 or so years.
How did you end up living in the city / town you live in?
I moved here with my (now my ex) significant other to pursue my dream of becoming a personal trainer.
What keeps you living in the city / town you live in?
My students and the free boxing gym that myself and the other trainers are looking to build. Everything I do is to raise funding for this gym. Whether that be my jobs in construction, my OnlyFans or my art reference packs.
Do you feel like an adult?
I feel tired. I think that’s the default emotion all adults share so in that case — yes.
When you look in the mirror, what do you tend to focus on about your appearance?
I used to focus on things about my appearance and still do at times but for the most part since I take thousands of photos of myself for my sets and social media, my insecurities have become a bit of a blur.
At times I will fixate on them like my desire to have bigger boobs and big legs but seeing myself so often has sort of desensitized me to those thoughts. My body and face are essentially a business, so I maintain my physique and don’t really have time to feel bad about myself.
What’s your favorite part about yourself?
I love my ginger hair and freckles. I even wish my hair was more vibrant and I had MORE freckles.
What do you tend to notice in strangers?
I notice their physique, their fashion sense, and the way they walk.
What do you think strangers notice about you?
I’m sure people notice how tired I look. Strangers tend to either compliment my fashion or tell me I should smile more.
What do think those that know you say about you?
Hopefully they say good things. “Crafty”? “Will she yell at me if I squat with my hands on my stupid knees”?
What would you hope they would say?
That I’ve positively impacted their lives in some way.
What do you hope never changes about yourself?
My desire to create and exercise.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t tell your office coworkers a damn thing about yourself, don’t tell them your interests, your dislikes or anything. Please learn how to do taxes before you graduate high school and for the love of God, just go to Trade School. Don’t try to be an artist.
Were you open to the advice of adults as a teenager?
I didn’t really have adults in my life who could give positive advice when I was a teenager. I’m sure I would have been.
If you could know exactly when and how you would die, would you want to know?
Nope. Just make sure it’s in my sleep, okay?
I know some folks who have had incredible teachers, coaches, and other figures early in life who made a major impact on them. Have you had a mentor that has made an impact on your life? If so, who was it and what was their impact?
I never had anyone like that growing up, but I found a mentor in my boxing coaches. The instructors I met through my years of becoming a personal trainer and boxer shaped me as an individual and an adult. They helped me to grow and showed me how much joy can be derived from teaching others.
Have you ever been a mentor to someone? Is that role you’d want to take on for someone?
I would like to think so. I have taught hundreds of kids at this point and am friends with all of my students.
How do you view the role of job and career in your life? Does it play a role outside of money?
I was a freelance artist/illustrator for over 10 years and failed miserably. If you’re not paid to do something you love it defeats the purpose of it being a job. It then becomes a hobby. For me, I’ve worked in so many different fields that never made me happy, but I stayed for the money. I save every penny and am proudly not in debt.
I would love to be an artist or a seamstress full time, but I can’t. Money is a factor, and things are more expensive than ever. So, I have to always keep money in mind. Especially for my students and the goals I have for my gym.
If any wish could be granted immediately, what would you wish to change about your life?
I wish I grew up in a different country.
Did you follow your childhood dream?
Not really. I’m still fighting to achieve those dreams but alas, money is an issue so I can’t be an artist or a fashion designer.
